Posidonia Festival

Posidonia Festival is an International Ecofestival of Art, Environment and Sustainable Development.

It´s a space for dissemination of knowledge and practices that promote the protection of the natural coastal environment and, at the same time, an opportunity for sustainable development, culture and tourism.

A laboratory for sustainable solutions for the tourism sector that creates a field of experimentation, reflection and promotion. Connects, in an innovative way, the world of the ecology, sustainable development and art.

An event designed and produced following the principles of environmental sustainability.

Why a “Posidonia” Festival?

Because we are aware of the importance of defending the Posidonia oceanica as a key element to maintaining the equilibrium of the mediterranean coastal and marine ecosystems.

Because the plant contributes enormously to the beauty and life of the Mediterranean Sea.

Because we believe in the union of Culture, Education, and Environment Preservation as a means of making a transition towards a sustainable planet.

Because of all this, the Posidonia plant stands for the spirit and aims of the Festival .

Born in 2008 on the island of Formentera (Spain) from 2011 is celebrated in Carloforte (Sardinia) marking the beginning of outreach activities throughout the year also in other places like Tavolara Island (Sardinia).

Since 2012 confirms its international vocation making editions both in Carloforte and in Sitges (Barcelona) developing activities throughout the year and actively participating in coalitions and European projects as OCEAN2012, FROM WASTE TO RESOURCE, NetMed, DG Agricolture and others.

Since 2015 others editions have been made in Santa Margherita Ligure (Liguria) y Mallorca (Illes Balears).
