POSIDONIA FESTIVAL 2010 in FORMENTERA

 
                    

POSIDONIA FESTIVAL 2010 changes the spring for the autumn, from May to October. Posidonia Festival celebrates this year, declared International Year of Biodiversity by the United Nations, with many different artistic and cultural activities on ecology issues directly related to the Mediterranean as well as the Ecofair, the documentaries and the workshops as in previous editions. Acoustic musical concerts are confirmed, and all the festival activities are still free.

The musical program this year is, however, definitely exquisite, from the classic string quartet V.O. Quartet, which performs original compositions, to the progressive jazz group The Lost Standars and Juan Belda quartet, the music "old contemporary" multicultural Pedro Burruezo and Bohemia Camerata, the  unclassifiable Professor GLOBO and the Piccola Orchestra Gagarin (POG).

Will participate also members of IMEDEA (CSIC), Spanish Oceanographic Institute, the Virtual Biodiversity Association, the Ornithological Society of Catalunya and a long list of personalities from the world of science related to biodiversity and ecology.

In the documentary section, this year we will have internationally apriciated films such as "Home" by Yan Arthus-Bertrand, a great movie about the state of the planet.

On Sunday morning, journalists and local politicians and the history expert Santiago Colomar will discuss the future and the past of conservation in Formentera.

Will be also possible to follow all the Posidonia Festival in IB3 Radio the radio of Balearic Islands, which will be media partner of the event, along with the prestigious magazine The Ecologist.
